Music has been a part of my life since the age of five, when my parents discovered I could play by ear. I took piano lessons up until the age of 12, and started playing piano for church worship. I also played flute for band from the age of 12, up through high school, where I played keyboard for various things, such as jazz band and a school musical. I went to Northwest College (now Northwest University), and earned a bachelor's degree in Church Music, with an emphasis in Conducting. I also met my husband at Northwest, and we married a few months after graduating. We moved to Gresham, Oregon, where we were blessed to find Living Word Fellowship. Our heart is with this church. John and I have worked with the children's choir since 2000, and I have directed the church choir since 2004. Choir is so much fun, and I am always amazed that I can wave my arms at the choir, and get such an amazing sound out of them! Music is my favorite way to honor our Lord. It is a passion God instilled in me at a very young age, and I love to pass it on through choir and teaching. I am blessed to be able to teach piano from my home, and to get to be a full-time mom for my two beautiful children. |
